Laughlin, Nevada, a resort town situated on the Colorado River, is home to a distinctive collection of stone labyrinths hidden in the nearby Mojave Desert. These nine mazes are located just off Thomas Edison Drive, making them accessible to visitors in the area. Ranging in size from 25 to 55 feet, the collection includes an octagon measuring 36 feet and a square at 33 feet, offering an unexpected outdoor experience away from the casino floors.
Beyond the labyrinths, the surrounding desert environment provides additional opportunities for exploration. The Colorado River Heritage Greenway Trail extends for 10.5 miles, winding past unusual rock formations and native wildlife before concluding at the historic Davis Dam. For golf enthusiasts, Laughlin offers six courses in the area, featuring landscapes that vary from desert dunes to riverfront views. Tourism materials indicate the region experiences more than 300 sunny days annually, providing ample opportunity for outdoor activities.
Activities on the Colorado River itself cater to various preferences, from leisurely cruises to faster-paced adventures. London Bridge Jet Boat Tours provide trips from Laughlin to the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, operating seasonally. Additionally, Laughlin River Tours offers an evening dinner cruise on the river. For those who prefer to navigate themselves, docks at the riverfront resorts rent jet skis and kayaks.
Laughlin's entertainment calendar features a range of live events. The Laughlin Event Center is set to host hip-hop artists Nelly and Lil Jon on Saturday, October 24, followed by country singer Bailey Zimmerman on Saturday, November 14. These performances mark the beginning of a series of live events scheduled through the holiday season. Cultural performances are also slated, including “The Nutcracker Ballet” at Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino on Thursday, December 10, and “Cirque Musical Holiday Wonderland” at Edgewater Casino Resort on Saturday, December 12. These venues are among Laughlin’s eight riverside resorts, which also feature spas and private cabana pools.
Laughlin, located 90 miles south of Las Vegas, is currently promoted by its “Keep It Floaty” campaign. This campaign aims to present the town as an easygoing getaway, suggesting "unexpected twists on familiar resort experiences." It encourages visitors to exchange a busy schedule for more spontaneous exploration, inviting them to arrive as they are and embrace a more relaxed pace. The campaign illustrates this philosophy through examples such as a central character floating through a resort restaurant on a lounge chair and cruising across a casino lobby on a jet ski.
